5 Swiss computer games

Mobile puzzles for commuters, shooters with elements from Matrix, or immersive story-based games for rainy Saturdays − the Swiss game industry is very diverse. Swisscom Gaming has tested 5 Swiss video games for you.

Airheart – Tales of Broken Wings

A charming Twinstick Shooter with Cel Shading optics. As Amelia Airheart (allusions to Amelia Earhart are no coincidence) you fly through different levels with your upgradeable airplane and fight aerial battles with flying pirates. Once you shot down enough pirates in one level or completed small missions, you can fly up to the next floor with a type of elevator. The enemies become stronger on each floor and the plane must always be equipped with better parts − or you simply buy a completely new plane. Our recommendation: buy it.

Persephone

A tricky, macabre puzzle game − perfect for commuters with black humor. Play your character through various mini levels in different worlds with increasing difficulty. You’ll solve the first levels rather quickly. The advanced ones tend to be really tricky. The highlight: To get ahead, you have to kill your character at the right moment. The price is rather high for a mobile game − but it offers a lot of fun and great graphics. Our recommendation: buy it.

Far – Lone Sails

A very immersive Indie jump-and-run game. You have to solve small (sometimes very simple) puzzles to power your steam engine and get it moving. The style of the landscape is quite dreary, but in a positive way. A good game for a cosy Saturday evening to switch off. Proud price for only about 4 hours playtime − hence our personal opinion: rather not buy.

Octahedron

Octahedron is a 2D-platformer with 80’s neon aesthetics and unique gameplay twists that keep you entertained. For example, the game character can create temporary platforms under his feet for a few seconds, thus bridging insurmountable obstacles and defeating invincible opponents. Worth every cent. Buy absolutely. Go!

KIDS

KIDS is not a game in the conventional sense of the genre. It’s an experimental interactive experience that should be experienced passively rather than actively. Use your curser to pull and pushe little men through the area in a sequence of loosely connected narrative scenarios. You never know what will happen next and to which goal the game is heading. A unique experience. Even if it’s not a game in the classic sense: buy it!

Retimed

Retimed is a competitive 2D multiplayer shooter with innovative game mechanics: As soon as an enemy shot approaches the player’s character, the action takes place in slow motion within a small radius around the player. This provides plenty of fun and numerous spectacular evasive maneuvers in normally inevitable hail of bullets. It’s best to enjoy the game with four players in front of a big screen! Therefore our recommendation: buy if you can play regularly with 3 friends, because there is no singleplayer mode yet.
